Bottom ash is the material that exits a waste incineration process. It is made up of a many different components such as metals, glass and other things that don’t fully combust. Further, bottom ash comes out in a variety of different sizes. There are a number of well known processes to deal with the large material, but the fine particles (less than 10mm) can be very difficult to separate.

Sepro has a variety of state-of-the-art process to effectively separate these fine bottom ash particles. One method is Condor Dense Media Separation. Condor Dense Media Separation can process particles down to 1mm in size, much finer than traditional dense media drums. The photo on the left shows the dense media “float” product. This product contains glass, minerals and light metals such as aluminum. The photo on the left contains the dense media “sink” product. This product contains copper and other valuable heavy metals.
